You can make them as I made them, stuffing them with bacon and gorgonzola, or just use the basic idea and vary the filling as you like: mixed vegetables sautéed for vegan candies (by buying the special sheet), spinach and ricotta for the most classic of vegetarian fillings, spreadable cheese and cooked ham for a simply more delicate alternative, and so on ... So if you want to amaze your guests with a different appetizer than usual, try these puff candy and let me know!

How to make puff pastry candies

First of all, sauté the bacon well in a preheated non-stick pan, stirring often to make it brown evenly.
Separately, work the cheeses together: diced mozzarella, grated parmesan, diced gorgonzola.
Then add the bacon to the cheese mix.

Obtain 12 rectangles from the pastry, stuff the center of each with a couple of teaspoons of filling and close the pastry like a candy, sealing the edges around the filling.

Arrange the candies on the baking sheet lined with parchment paper, a little distant from each other.
Brush the central part with egg white and decorate with poppy seeds, then bake for about 15 minutes or until golden brown in a preheated static oven at 200 ° C.

The puff pastry candies are ready, serve hot, lukewarm or even cold.
